Meet Body Confidence Specialist Kala Evans, Founder of ATL BodyWorks

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Kala Evans of ATL BodyWorks. Read her story below and get connected with this fellow beauty in the Luxurae Collective.

To get our readers familiar with you, tell us a little about yourself and the path that led you to becoming a public figure in the wellness industry.

My journey has been anything but conventional. The obstacles, the hot messes, and those WTH moments helped me develop character, exposed what I was made of, and gave me purpose. They also reminded me that God is amazing and that I’m pretty dope.

Today, I’m the Founder of ATL BodyWorks and proud to be known as the Body Confidence Specialist. My mission is simple: to help people honor their bodies. Remember, your body is a temple, so please treat it as such. Wellness is a necessity. It needs to become a non-negotiable in your life.

One of the most significant milestones in my journey has been the creation of Peachtree Slim™ and CelluTone Pro. These aren’t just products; they’re tools I’ve developed to help people reclaim their power, love on their bodies, and take control of their wellness journey. Peachtree Slim™ supports energy, fat metabolism, and curbing cravings, while CelluTone Pro works to smooth and firm the skin from the inside out. Together, they help people feel great!

Start today. You owe you. I love you and there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it.

Be well and take care of YOU!

What wellness practices have been most impactful in your personal journey, and how do you share these with your audience?

Your body is a temple and a machine when it needs to be. You expect it to carry you through trials, obstacles, and battles, yet you must also respect it. Then there’s the other side, where your body simply needs rest a safe space to reset. Most people are so busy and occupied that they don’t realize the importance of being in alignment.

In my experience, most—not all but most—ailments and diseases stem from the body being out of alignment. When you’re not aligned with yourself, your body, your energy, begins to suffer. This is something I wholeheartedly stand on. I’m always open to a healthy debate on it, but this is my truth. Alignment is everything!

Wellness is about creating balance and honoring the body that carries you through life. That’s the message I share every chance I get. As someone blessed to serve high-performing professionals, I see the demands of careers and lifestyles that leave little time for self-care. That’s why I encourage people to respect their bodies stretch, hydrate, incorporate diaphragmatic breathing (which is a game changer), and make time for healing practices like massage, which is not a luxury but a necessity.

I share these practices EVERYWHERE on my social platforms, during my sessions, or even at the grocery store. If the opportunity presents itself, I share the importance of wellness and self-care because everyone deserves to hear it.

When you take the time to listen to your body and invest in yourself, you’re building the foundation for the duration of your journey. Keep in mind that there’s always a better way.

What was the most significant part of your journey that made you realize you were on the right path?

I knew I was on the right path when I saw the overwhelmingly positive results people experienced after interacting with me. After completing over 20,000 services as of 2023, I’ve stopped counting, but the feedback speaks for itself. People don’t just leave feeling better physically they feel seen, valued, and ready to take on the world. Even as a kid, I had an energy that made people believe they could do anything.

That aura has always been my gift and I am intentional with it in every session, every conversation, and every experience. This isn’t just my work..it’s my calling.

When it comes to what you do in the wellness industry, what's one thing you wish people understood or embraced more?

I wish people understood that wellness isn’t a luxury it’s a necessity. It’s not just about looking good; it’s about feeling good and functioning at your best. Wellness is about honoring the body that carries you through life and making it a priority, not an afterthought. One session or one moment of self-care isn’t enough to offset years of stress and neglect. It’s a commitment to showing up for yourself daily. Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish it’s essential!!

What challenges have you faced in building a wellness brand, and how did you overcome them?

One challenge I’ve observed in the wellness industry is the lack of focus on ethics or the true purpose of wellness. Staying true to my values while maintaining the standards of excellence I hold in my work has been key. Overcoming this means staying consistent leading by example, and educating clients and my colleagues on the ethics and impact of what we do.

It’s about reminding people why wellness matters, focusing on true healing, and delivering care with intention. Another challenge is finding the right space to grow. While I plan to keep my Buckhead location, my vision is to expand into a 10-14-room facility that stands alongside the four- and five-star establishments that shaped me. So, as you can see, I’m still a work in progress. Until then, I’m enjoying my journey to the destination.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to women who are just beginning to prioritize their health and well-being?

Sheesh… Ladies, you cannot pour from an empty cup. As women, we are natural nurturers, designed to serve and care for others, but too often we put ourselves last. When I began to understand the universal laws, the first law of nature stood out: self preservation. You must put yourself first not out of selfishness, but out of necessity. 2 Think about the safety skit on an airplane: “Put your oxygen mask on first before assisting others.” In life, it’s the same principle.

We mask so much of our struggles, emotions and our needs BUT we rarely stop to put on the mask that covers and protects us first. Taking care of yourself isn’t a luxury it’s survival. There’s a scripture that resonates with me on this: “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” (Ephesians 6:10-11) Whether you’re a believer or not, this truth applies to life, business and personal growth.

You must arm yourself with strength, boundaries, you know, the tools to thrive. Prioritizing your health and well-being isn’t an option it’s non-negotiable. It’s the foundation for showing up fully for yourself and those you love. Start small: stretch, hydrate, drink some more water, go for a walk, do something different, try something new, go book your massage. Taking care of yourself isn’t just an act of self-love—it’s how you build the energy to show up for yourself and everyone else. How you do anything is how you do everything. And remember, the world is your stage Queen and you need to put on a damn good show!!
