To get our readers familiar with you, tell us a little about yourself and the path that led you to becoming a thriving entrepreneur in your industry.

I am a certified Sound Healer and Level One Reiki Practitioner from Detroit, Michigan. As the founder of Charmed by Intuition, I combine spirituality, creativity, and wellness through sound healing, guided meditations, and a unique range of products.

I am deeply passionate about creating safe spaces for the Black community to heal, drawing on my knowledge of African American Root-work and holistic wellness. I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with organizations like Black Tech Saturdays, Peace + Pilates, and Kozen, as well as wellness practitioners, fitness instructors, and nonprofits that align with my vision of fostering relaxation and overall well-being.

My passion for healing is personal. Growing up in a Christian family, exploring spirituality in my own way wasn’t always expected or encouraged. My journey to this point hasn’t been easy—I’ve struggled with self-acceptance and embracing my gifts, and I’m still growing every day. In 2022, therapy revealed that my throat chakra was blocked, and I needed to learn how to speak my truth. After my sessions ended, I purchased my first sound bowl, dedicated to the throat chakra, as a way to create space for my own healing. I no longer wanted to be confined by the limitations of my past. Through sound healing, I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone and fully aligned with my purpose—holding space for others to heal and feel seen.

What challenges have you faced in building a wellness brand, and how did you overcome them?

One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced in building my wellness brand has been self-acceptance and fully embracing my gifts, even when others don’t understand them. Growing up in a Christian household, exploring spirituality in a way that felt true to me wasn’t always encouraged, and at times, I questioned whether I was on the right path. Even now, I’m still learning to stand confidently in my purpose without seeking validation from others.

I’ve overcome a lot by reminding myself why I started—focusing on the impact I make rather than the opinions of those who may not understand. Every time I see how my work helps someone heal, I’m reassured that I’m exactly where I need to be. It’s an ongoing journey, but I’ve learned that true alignment comes from trusting myself and staying committed to the spaces I’m creating for others.

My advice is to remember that prioritizing your health and well-being is an ongoing journey, not a destination. There’s no rush, no perfect way to do it—just a commitment to showing up for yourself. When you consistently pour into your own cup, you’ll start to see that overflow into every other area of your life—your relationships, your confidence, and your overall peace. Small, intentional steps add up, so give yourself grace and trust that every effort you make toward your well-being is worth it.

What wellness practices have been most impactful in your personal journey, and how do you share these with your audience?

Breathwork, meditation, and energy healing have been pivotal in my personal journey. Learning to regulate my nervous system and create space for self-reflection has helped me overcome self-doubt and embrace my gifts. Through sound healing, I’ve deepened my connection to my intuition and found a powerful way to release emotional blockages.

I share these practices with my audience by hosting group sound baths, leading guided meditations, and offering tools that support spiritual and emotional well-being. Whether collaborating with wellness organizations or curating intentional experiences, my focus is always on creating spaces where people—especially those in the Black community—can feel safe, seen, and supported on their own healing journeys.

What was the most significant part of your journey that made you realize you were on the right path?

One of the most significant moments in my journey was when a client wrote me a heartfelt letter about how deeply my sound bath had impacted them. The message came just a day after I had felt like I didn’t perform my best, and in that moment, I was reminded that my work isn’t about perfection—it’s about the energy, the space I create, and the healing I facilitate. That experience shifted my perspective, reinforcing that my purpose isn’t measured by how I feel about my performance, but by the way I make others feel. It was a powerful confirmation that I’m on the right path.

When it comes to what you do in the wellness industry, what's one thing you wish people understood or embraced more?

I wish more people understood that wellness—especially sound healing—is truly an energy transfer. It’s not always something you feel instantly; sometimes, the impact unfolds over time. Healing isn’t an overnight process, and the energy we expose ourselves to—whether through a sound bath or our daily interactions—plays a huge role in our well-being. I want people to embrace the idea that even subtle shifts in energy can create deep, lasting change, and that consistency and openness are key to experiencing the full benefits of this work.
